Local Outpatient Rehab Built Around Your Life
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) deliver structured, evidence-based addiction treatment at our Massachusetts locations — with the schedule flexibility to keep working, parenting, or attending school. Outpatient rehab that fits your life instead of pausing it.
Four Convenient MA Locations
Outpatient rehab at our Braintree, Quincy, Sharon, and Bedford facilities — accessible from Boston, the South Shore, and MetroWest.
Massachusetts-Licensed Clinical Team
Licensed alcohol & drug counselors (LADC), mental health counselors (LMHC), social workers (LICSW), and medical providers — all in-house, all MA-credentialed.
Day & Evening IOP Sessions
Intensive outpatient program schedules built for working adults — morning, afternoon, and evening groups available across our MA locations.
Same-Day Insurance Verification
Most major insurance plans accepted with benefits confirmed often within the hour. Start outpatient rehab in days, not weeks.
Outpatient Rehab for the Full Range of Substance Use Disorders
Our intensive outpatient program treats adults across Massachusetts struggling with alcohol, opioid, prescription, stimulant, and polysubstance use — including co-occurring mental health conditions.
Alcohol Use Disorder
Outpatient alcohol rehab for daily drinking, binge drinking, and alcohol dependence — including MAT options where appropriate.
Opioid Use Disorder
Outpatient drug rehab for heroin, fentanyl, and opioid dependence — with FDA-approved medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options where clinically appropriate.
Prescription Drug Misuse
Benzodiazepines, stimulants, sleep medications, and other prescription drug dependence — outpatient rehab with medical oversight.
Stimulant Use Disorder
Cocaine and stimulant dependence — outpatient treatment with evidence-based behavioral therapies.
Polysubstance Use
Multiple substances at once is the norm, not the exception. Our outpatient rehab treats the full picture, not just the primary substance.
Dual Diagnosis (Co-Occurring)
Substance use plus depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, or other mental health conditions — integrated outpatient treatment, one clinical team.
PHP & IOP — The Right Intensity for Your Recovery
Your clinical assessment determines whether partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) fits best. Many clients step down from PHP to IOP as they stabilize — same clinical team, less intensity over time.
PHP
Partial Hospitalization Program
The most intensive outpatient option. Hospital-level structure without overnight stays — ideal when withdrawal symptoms have stabilized but daily structure is critical.
IOP
Intensive Outpatient Program
Structured outpatient rehab with the schedule flexibility to keep working, parenting, or attending school. Day and evening sessions across our four Massachusetts locations.
Outpatient
Standard Outpatient Care
Weekly individual therapy and medication management. The right fit for ongoing maintenance or step-down from a higher level of care.

In-Person, Virtual, or a Mix of Both
If a drive to one of our locations three days a week doesn't fit your life, you have options. Many clients use a hybrid model — some sessions in-person, others virtual — to keep treatment consistent through work travel, family demands, or weather. Same clinical team, same curriculum, more flexibility.
In-Person
Default for most clients
Full IOP or PHP at our Braintree, Quincy, Sharon, or Bedford locations. Group dynamics in the room often accelerate connection and accountability.
Hybrid
In-Person + Virtual Mix
Mix in-person and virtual sessions to fit work, travel, family obligations, or seasonal logistics. Built around your real life — not a rigid weekly grid.
Fully Virtual
From anywhere in MA
Same curriculum, HIPAA-compliant video platform, MA-licensed clinical team. Good fit when distance, mobility, childcare, or privacy require it.
Most Major Insurance Plans Accepted
In-network with Massachusetts and national carriers. Free benefits verification — usually within an hour.
Massachusetts-Licensed Addiction Counselors & Medical Providers
Our outpatient rehab team includes licensed alcohol & drug counselors (LADC), licensed mental health counselors (LMHC), licensed clinical social workers (LICSW), and medical providers for medication-assisted treatment — all credentialed in Massachusetts, all in-house.
That matters: real continuity of care across PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels; real coordination across your treatment team; and local clinical accountability — not a national chain where you see a different counselor every session.
What People Want to Know About Outpatient Rehab
What's the difference between IOP and PHP?
Both are outpatient rehab programs — the difference is intensity. PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) is the most intensive: typically 5 days per week, 6 hours per day. It's designed for clients who need hospital-level structure but don't require an inpatient stay.
IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) is less time-intensive: typically 3 days per week, 3 hours per session — making it a better fit if you're working, parenting, or in school. The clinical content is similar; the difference is the dose.
Your clinical assessment will recommend which level fits your situation. Many clients start in PHP and step down to IOP as they stabilize.
Is outpatient rehab as effective as inpatient?
For many people with substance use disorders, outpatient rehab is as effective as inpatient — and sometimes more so, because you're practicing recovery skills in the real environment you'll live in long-term.
Inpatient is typically recommended for clients who need medical detox, have severe withdrawal risk, or have a home environment that makes recovery impossible. Outpatient works well for clients who are medically stable, motivated to engage, and have basic support at home. Your clinical assessment will tell you what's right.
Will my insurance cover outpatient rehab?
Most major insurance plans cover outpatient addiction treatment, including PHP and IOP, at the same level as other medical care thanks to mental health parity laws. We're in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Beacon, AllWays, Unicare, MVP, Priority Health, CDPHP, and other major Massachusetts carriers.
Call us or submit a verification form — we'll confirm your specific coverage and out-of-pocket costs, often within an hour.
Do you offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT)?
Yes. We offer FDA-approved medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders as part of an integrated treatment plan, with ongoing medical oversight from our prescribers. Specific medication options are determined clinically based on your history and goals.
MAT isn't required for everyone — we tailor your treatment plan to your clinical needs. If MAT isn't right for you, there are evidence-based alternatives.
Can I keep working or going to school during outpatient rehab?
Yes — that's the core reason outpatient rehab exists. Our IOP groups run day and evening so you can choose a schedule that fits around work, school, and family commitments. Many employers and schools accommodate treatment schedules under FMLA or similar policies.
PHP is more time-intensive (5 days × 6 hours), so most clients in PHP take FMLA-style leave or reduced hours. Your admissions counselor can help you understand what protections apply.
Do I need to detox before starting outpatient rehab?
It depends on what you're using and how much. Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be medically dangerous and may require supervised detox before outpatient treatment begins. Opioid and stimulant withdrawal is uncomfortable but rarely medically dangerous — many clients can transition straight from active use into outpatient rehab with MAT support.
Your clinical assessment will determine the right starting point. If detox is needed, we can help coordinate it before your outpatient program begins.
How quickly can I start?
For most outpatient rehab clients, between calling us and starting your first session is 24-48 hours. Same-day clinical assessments are routine when scheduled in advance. The exact timeline depends on insurance verification and assessment scheduling.
